I shall be leading two walks:

Sample walk from 'Day Walks on the High Weald' Guidebook

Join local author and walking expert Deirdre Huston on a peaceful circuit through High Weald scenery in Mid-Sussex. Glimpse the lives of a prosperous Iron Industry family and return via a vineyard.

Creative Writing Walk - Mayfield

Wander through an atmospheric woodland and enjoy creative writing exercises to help you observe, imagine and connect ideas. Notebook and pen essential. This walk is led by local author and walking expert Deirdre Huston - all writers are welcome.

I am excited to be running workshops through Made and Making at the Heritage Centre in Hassocks.

Immerse yourself in some Seasonal Woodlands photography or learn to Get Off Auto with your digital SLR. 

Deirdre has experience in teaching photography to adults through Northbrook College Adult and Community Education Department. She has also led and facillitated outdoor workshops and field trips through Photography Pathways.

As a qualified teacher (PGCE), she enjoyed teaching in mainstream primary schools and more recently in the community under the auspices of Young Writers' Workshops. She is a volunteer with Little Green Pig who support young writers in Brighton and Sussex through creative Story Salons and Writing Clubs.
